Hello from Bulgaria!
I have just made my reservation to a hotel located in Pefkari, Thassos Island
I have never been in Thassos, but I hope that together with my spouse and daughter would have wonderful vacations.
I have been in Corfu (Kerkira) and I am very impressed by that island  . Lets hope Thassos is as beautiful as Corfu or maybe more? That is way I am here in fact to ask for yours comments and impressions and few questions if you don’t mind.
What about Pefkari ?– beaches, landscape etc.
What is the weather during the second half of June (In fact I have reservation for the period 18-27 June)?
Is it true that in June the water is still cold because of a specific stream? The south part of the island was recommended to me because of the a/m fact. I prefer to swim into the sea instead of swimming pool  my daughter also
I am going to travel by car, so could you give me more details about ferry. As I understood it is better to take the ferry from Keramoti. Could you tell me the price of the tickets– adults, car?
I do not want to bore you so I stop ….. 
P’S I recommend you to visit Bulgarian sea cost and the beautiful resorts Sunny beach and Golden Sands. The prices are O’K (unfortunately not for Bulgarians  ) . I thing it is worth to try…..

I will try to answer to some of your questions.
Thassos is a typical Greek island, if you want to compare to Kerkira, it is also very green (unfortunately many trees were lost in the big fires in the 80's), but there are still lots of olive trees and pine trees.
Pefkari is a little summer spot with a good beach (sand with some stone slabs in the water), taverns, bars and watersports. Only 10 minutes walk to the next real village Potos, were you have everything: restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy and so on.
The weather in june is almost very fine. I have been on the island several times in june. Take a pullover for the evenings with you. The temperature of the water is nearly 20 degrees. The average temperature of the air you can find here: http://www.thassos-island.com/today/weather/average.htm
Ferry boat: It is cheaper to go from Keramoti to Limenas, because you take your car with you. The prices at the moment are:
1,60€ adults
0,80€ children
9,70€ a car up to 4,25 metre length
12,20€ a car more than 4,25 metre
The ferry boat schedules you can find on http://www.gtp.gr/RoutesForm.asp . Type KEH (for Keramoti) and LIM (for Limenas) as the port codes, and your travel date.
