wish I had a house on Thassos - have thought about it but don't think it is currently a good time to buy. Will prob travel independently rent for a few weeks for visit after May hols as hubbie taking early retirement.

hi al, nothing wrong with turkey. we usually go oct to southern
turkey, last two years. stayed in the titanic beach resort. very good. also like egypt, was there feb this year. weather great and the tropicana grand azure resort fab. its good to try other places, makes you appreciate thassos even more. when we eventually retire and live on thassos we still will holiday in other places especially in the winter. we have talked a lot about it at home and think thassos will be too quiet for us in winter. you never know though, might just drop into the greek way and hibernate. ha ha. regards vinnie.

We are going to Olu Deniz, the great thing about it is we can fly from Exeter airport which is 20 minutes from Sidmouth, I must be getting older as I find the drive to Gatwick overnight a real pain.
Might be able to fit in a sneaky Thassos 5/7 days in September

hi, have stayed in the area but prefer antayla area. lara beach fantastic, although the best area i have been to in turkey is kalkan, very upmarket, not at all like the rest of turkey. almost like being in italy. i,m sure you will enjoy your holiday though.if you like markets, there is one at the top of the hill in hisaronu and dont forget to visit the ghost village where the greeks used to live.very strange place, still a couple of old greek churches up there.sad to see it just left derelict.however thats life. regards vinnie.
